Photoshop Illustrations Wif Color

These were a lot more challenging than I thought they'd be. I figured since I was tracing them and filling in local color, it shouldn't be too hard to make it look good. But keeping the aesthetic when choosing what elements to emphasize and which to cut out was pretty tricky. I think I started getting the idea, but I obviously still need a whole lotta practice.

Sky-Scapes and Architecture

So far, I've been having trouble finishing the 10 watercolor homework assignments cause I'm not very good at quick watercolor painting. Well. I can do it, but they don't come out the way I would like them to. I would prefer to sit down and paint something that actually interests me than having to randomly choose 10 compositions and cranking them out in a couple hours before I pass out the night before they're due. I've enjoyed choosing one of the ten in class and painting it larger. Probably since I get to focus on only one for an hour compared to 10.

Photoshop Illustrations

I've never even thought to draw this way before. After I learned, I felt dumb for not thinking of it myself. There are so many projects where this style of illustration would have been relevant and the fact that they don't take forever and you don't have to scan them in saves some precious time.

Just before I thought I'd have a nice long semester's break with no blogging what-so-ever, Illustration class changed those plans. So now, after a whole summer of blogging, here I am again! I know. You probably missed me these three weeks I've been away. But now I'm back and have some..ehem...interesting illustrations to show you. I'm always a bit rusty after not having taken a drawing class in two years, but I think these turned out decent enough. The first 5 are my favorite hand-drawn ones from the 10 assigned, and the second 5 are ones created in Photoshop. So exciting. (the 5 Photoshop illustrations are in the next post (obviously))
